The series "Underwater Music" began with the fact that I love mermaids since childhood. I like the idea of combining human and a fish. A familiar body and repulsive scales. Once when I was a child, my aunt and I had a picnic by the river, and she told me a story about seeing a mermaid.
At our country house there was a large tank of water in which you could swim. It was a sunny day, and my aunt was sitting on a plank, swinging her legs in the water. At one point, she felt that someone was pulling her into the water, and she fell under. My aunt opened her eyes and saw a translucent humanoid silhouette. It was a girl. The sun shone through her watery hair, the glare danced everywhere, the water shimmered with summer light. My aunt was scared and couldn’t see if the silhouette had a tail, or if it had legs.
